Treatment of atopic dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis is a type of skin inflammation that causes a very itchy rash that manifests itself repeatedly. It is most commonly seen during the baby/infant period, but recently, some people have started showing symptoms after they have become adults. The main causes are: weakened barrier function of the skin (dry skin) and a predisposition to allergies (atopic diathesis). In order to maintain a strong barrier function, it is important to keep your skin moist and use external medication to contain the inflammation and itchiness. If the external medication is not effective, the doctor may also prescribe oral medication. With the proper use of medication, you will be able to control your skin’s condition.

Our clinic chooses the most suitable medication for your skin, and gives thorough instructions and advice on daily skincare and how to apply external medicine. Blood tests and skin tests are also possible in order to identify which allergens you are allergic to. For intractable atopic dermatitis, we use the excimer laser or Dupixenta biological drug. For more information, please check Excimer LightBiological products.
