A mole is a benign bruise called pigmented cutaneous nevus. Its size varies and the color is usually brown or black.  Moles that are fairly big are also referred to as a black mole.

If you notice any change such as a sudden increase of moles, redness due to infection, or bleeding, it may be a sign of malignant melanoma, so please consult us as soon as possible.
